A Two Day Make A Yorkshire Tweed Skirt Workshop

A  Two day workshop dedicated to creating a Yorkshire Tweed Skirt.

Where: The Black Bull, Moulton Richmond DL10 6QJ

When: Saturday 4th May - Sunday 5th May 2024

Both days will run from 9.30am until about 4.30pm

The price of the day is inclusive of all materials supplied including, Yorkshire Tweed, Zips, Linings and Pattern pieces as well as Lunch for both days.

The Black Bull will serve teas and coffees upon arrival Saturday we will enjoy a seasonal soup and sandwich lunch and Sunday we will enjoy a 2 course Sunday Roast for lunch.

This course is for you if you are looking for an enjoyable day out you want to build on the skills you already know, I will go through each step of this course to teach you, how to make an A-line tweed skirt. Skirt sizes are true to sizes and available in sizes 6-16. the style of the A-line skirt is to sit on your waist however you will be able to try some pre-made skirts to determine the size you would like to make.  Choose from 3 skirt lengths 17", 19"& 21" 

Skills taught on the day will include:

• How to read pattern pieces
• How to lay pattern pieces on your fabric 
• How to match checks
• How to insert an invisible zip 
• How to line a skirt

This Workshop will be limited to a maximum of 4 ladies, this is so that everyone can be seen one to one throughout the two days.

Don't own a sewing machine... no problem you can hire one for the day with a £10 extra fee. If you would like to buy the sewing machine at the end of the day the £10 hire fee will be deducted from the cost of the machine. 

Once booked on to this course a questionnaire will be emailed across to you, this helps me prepare for the day(dietary requirements etc) I will also be sending images of tweeds available for you to choose from to create your skirt, these will need to be returned 1 week prior to the workshop.
